Preventing Dangerous Silence
Every active serious school violence event has involve a trouble young male who is clinically troubled and often suicidal. Also, in nearly every case, other students were aware of potential danger but they did not communicate concerns with school personnel.
Far more common are students being tormented or threatened. These posters are designed to promote sharing situations of risk. One poster version contains a general written message the other is blank, allowing a school specific message, typically including a point of contact. Permitting anonymity in reporting potentially dangerous or destructive behaviors has been recommended by those who research school violence.
